Start For Sawtry
An outstanding team performance saw Sawtry Colts
gain a win in their first game of the season. Every girl in the team gave
100% with some excellent passing and movement from start to end.
Nicole Stefanelli set the ball rolling with a great strike after Megan
Purnell played the ball in. Megan then got a quad of goals with some super
link up play with Nicole.
Sophie Godward, Louise Holland and Hannah Ainsworth kept control of the game
with some exceptional battling and some intelligent passing. Calista
Brix-Craig and Ellie Bishop worked well to maintain strong defence, ensuring
that Amy Martin was left with little to do on her 9th birthday.
In the second half Histon Hornets found their shape and really gave Sawtry a
run for their money, until Sophie intercepted the ball, made an exceptional
solo run and slotted the ball in to make it 6-0.
Girl of the match Nicole then made it 7-0 after she linked onto a through
ball from Amy, who moved outfield field following a quite time in goal. |
