Match report from Histon Hornets Vs Sawtry Colts on 24 November 2007: Magnificent Seven For Sawtry Another outstanding performance from Sawtry Colts U10 Girls saw them comfortably beat Burwell Swallow 7-0 at Great Gidding. The game started off very closely contested with Calista Brix-Craig trying out a midfield role with Sophie Godward and Hannah Martin. And it only took 4 minutes for Calista to settle into this new role when she took an early opportunity to open the scoring and to get her name added to the seasons goal scorers tally sheet. Both Katherine Hinton and Ellie Bishop were solid at the back, giving Amy Martin very little to do throughout the game. But Amy did not disappoint when she was called on and maintained a clean sheet despite some firm shots and good forward play from the Burwell girls. Nicole Stefanelli was next on the score sheet with a very firmly struck shot from distance which left the goalkeeper with no chance of saving. Megan Purnell then added two more before the break to take the Sawtry Girls into a 4-0 half time lead. Then just after the break Nicole struck again before a long battle with both teams missing a variety of different chances. The Nicole made a solo run and converted to make it 6-0, and Megan finished off the game with a super strike from outside the box to make the final score 7-0.
