Match report from Bourne Town Juniors Vs Sawtry Colts on 22 September 2007:

Wining Streak Continues

Sawtry Colts U10 Girls took a break from league action today with a friendly game away to Bourne Town Juniors which allowed some of the girls to try out some different positions.

The colts got off to a flying start on 1 minute when Nicole Stefanelli netted from close range.

Then followed a long midfield battle with both teams fighting hard to try to make a breakthrough.

Solid performances from Ellie Bishop, Katherine Hinton and Calista Brix-Craig in defence meant that every time Bourne broke out of midfield the danger was soaked up.

Hannah Ainsworth, Sophie Godward and Louise Holland kept up the tempo to finally allow the Sawtry girls to make a break through when Sophie set up Nicole for a second.

After some further battling Bourne managed to break forwards and convert with a low hard strike which left, Girl of the match, Amy Martin with no chance blocking.

Sawtry soon restored the 2 goal advantage when Louise slotted the ball past the Bourne keeper to make it 3-1, which

After the break Megan Purnell made it 4 for Sawtry with a well struck effort.

Olivia Gracey, Hannah and Sophie continued to work hard in the second half and allowed Nicole to score two more.

An outstanding display from Amy Martin, who took control of her area, came off her line early and was very brave ensured Bourne were denied on several occasions.

Final Score: Bourne Town Juniors 1 - 6 Sawtry Colts.
